William “Bill” Correira

Born in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Bill relocated to St.Petersburg in 1976,and has lived and worked
in th area ever since then. A graphic artist, Bill was influenced at an early age by his father,William
Correira a well known scrimshaw artist whose work was recognized throughout Hawaii,Nantucket and
Maine Under the guidance of his father ,Bill developed his technique and was encouraged to exhibit
his work.

Bill creates pieces using mixed media on granite, metal and marble. His focus remains on figure studies and marine life indigenous to the area it is on the face of the stone that Bill is able to join
the natural beauty of the subject with the given nature of the stone to create a work of art that reflects both its strength and vulnerability each piece is unique with no two pieces alike.

Bill has been an ardent supporter of enviromental causes in the area by donating many pieces of his art to assist in fundraising efforts.

His work is held in numerous private collections
