An Afternoon at Straub Park
On Christmas Eve 1909, William Straub, then editor of the St. Petersburg Times, announced what he described as “the best Christmas present St. Petersburg ever received”–the city’s purchase of land for Waterfront Park, property that would be dedicated as public parkland in December 1910.
To help commemorate this milestone anniversary, the original oil painting, An Afternoon at Straub Park was especially created by Saint Petersburg Artist Carrie Jadus. This delicate image captures a lovely vista of Straub Park that is now available as a commemorative poster and also as 5×7 Note cards.  These beautiful posters and cards make great special gifts and best of all your purchase will help fund the 2010 Centennial Celebration events that will be free to the public.
Waterfront Centennial Merchandise and Information regarding events is available online at:
Also visit our booth this Saturday at the Saturday Morning Market!!!

The Phelps Brothers Reception featuring pro boxer Jeff Lacey was very well attended and convivial! More importantly, several of Leslie’s gang sold paintings– none of whom, I should point out, subsequently buying rounds for the house.
