First Of The Last Friday Concerts At Williams Park, St Pete

December 15, 2008 under Events

The first of the Last Friday Concerts at Williams Park has been confirmed for December 26, 2008. The Concert is FREE but there will be a VIP Lounge with complimentary entrees, beer and wine, and hand rolled cigars available for a $50 donation. Tickets can be purchased at the new website lastfridayconcerts.com.

Friends of Williams Park is an active supporter of programming that will help restore our historic central park to its role as an active urban town center. We’re excited that the Last Friday Concerts will be added to the growing calendar of events that already includes Art in the Park on Saturday’s and Wednesday Midday Market.

Please help spread the word. See you in the park!

St Pete Saturday Art Market Begins Oct 4th

Announcing the second season of the
SATURDAY ART MARKET.
We will begin this year on:

Saturday, October 4th
10:00 – 3:00 pm
Set up – 8:00 (no later)
Break down – 3:00 (no earlier)
Williams Park – Between 1st & 2nd Avenues North, 3rd & 4th Streets

Fortunately, Williams Park is in the process of some positive changes. The Downtown Neighborhood Association has formally adopted the park, and a thorough clean up is scheduled for: Saturday, September 20th at 10:00. If you would like to join us, and meet some of the downtown neighborhood residents, this would be a good time. Also plans are underway for a possible non profit to be formed to do regular programming and such at Williams Park.
We are fortunate to have Progress Energy, The Downtown Partnership, The City of St. Petersburg, St. Pete College, and others on board to help in “re-introducing” the park as the downtown activity hub that it was in its heyday.

Another change most likely is a name change. To avoid confusion with the Saturday Morning Market, it looks like the name will be changed to ART in the PARK…at Williams Park (as a byline). This will be decided this week. A fresh new logo and banners will advertise the change.

I will e-mail weekly updates as I did last year, and ask that you answer “yes” or “no” as to your participation each Saturday. Cost is still only $20.00 per booth. This year I would like to focus on improving the quality of the market, and increasing participation.

Please forward this e-mail to any artists that you think may be interested in participating.
The art must be original, and a tent is preferred but not required…a professional display is required!
Any new artist may e-mail images of their artwork to: intmotives@gmail.com. The artist will be contacted once the artwork is previewed.

If you have any questions, please contact me by e-mail (preferred) or at Interior Motives Gallery – 727-898-6061.
If you will be participating, please let me know ASAP.
Looking forward to another great season!!!

Leslie Curran
